When it comes to educational iPad apps there is no silver bullet, no one app which does everything, but as the name suggests Explain Everything comes close. If I had to choose my favourite educational app, it would be this one. This really is a heavyweight app.
It’s unusual, in that it can be used as a teaching or a learning tool and is equally effective as both. It is essentially a canvas to which you can add content such as words, pictures, videos and even embedded web pages. In addition to this you can record as you add content, which makes it great for modelling. You can also turn your iPad into an interactive whiteboard if you have it connected to a screen via airplay.
It’s an ideal app for children to present knowledge and works really well with other apps. I’ve seen children create content in apps such as comic life or pic collage (both of which generate flat images) and bring the to life with the video function of explain everything.
